Just had a rather curious experience on the lathe. I was making a bud vase/champagne flute out of padauk. By the time I got to sanding, my padauk had turned from a purple color to a light brown. Anybody else had an experience like this? It’s a nice little flute, but it’s nowhere near the color I started with. Not purple, not even dark red. The color is best described as tan. What the check?
