Question: Length of Wood Inserts to Use on Wood Slab table

What length wood inserts (20mm or 30mm) should I use for my slab patio table (22” x 6’) to attach table legs. Table depth is about 1.75”. I’ve viewed several YouTubes and read many articles – none provide any detail on ‘insert’ length. Appreciate some advice. Thanks.

you would probably get more responses if you posted your question
in the general forum instead of a blog. (in the “Joinery” section).
also, photos, sketches or drawings get more accurate responses.
