Time to make myself something. I am still using a pine bookcase air nailed together by my father back in the early 70’s…and I have a lot of books.
So I am going to make this:
I designed it some time back and just now have the time and energy to tackle it. It is not giant, standing only 60” and 30” wide. Nice size, with a top shelf that will not be too high to be used.
I am making two, one for me and one as a spec item for a local shop, so I can put the knotty bits in mine. I like them. Well, perhaps not knotty, but the less than perfect quartersawn oak parts.
Regardless, here is where I am as of a few days work. I am trying to shift to video versions as I seem to get more input and feedback than just blogging about things on my website. Who knows? Perhaps it is a better medium. Regardless, I am better at writing an article than making a video, but perhaps with practice.

I have to say, for just starting out in the video world, you did a pretty good job. Maybe less ‘high speed’ stuff, but other than that, I enjoyed it. Straight forward info with no muss, no fuss.
I’ve ‘buddied’ you so I don’t miss out on the next vids.

I liked the video also and the use of Sketchup.
I’m definitely a Sketchup fan.
I’m not trying to be the safety police, but please roll your sleeves up a little more.
That green flannel scared me every time it went over the jointer.
(Me telling someone to be safe is like the kettle calling the pot black)
Besides that, I will be following along to see your progress. I like it.

Thanks folks. Part two is in the works, but I added a blog entry here. Yea…I noticed the sleeves…never seen that before.
Have your say...
