Started late December 2019 getting this little building put together. It’s 15 feet south of the garage where my shop was previously. It is first part of June 2020 and I still haven’t finished it yet. I’m blaming that partly on the virus. Hard to get materials for a while. Anyway, it’s a 14’ x 24’ hobby workshop. All the bigger tools like table saw are on casters and can be wheeled outside on the 10’ x 11’6’’ deck when needed.

Curious if you ordered material through Menards or one of the other big box stores? I am thinking of doing the same down the road.

Thanks Pottz.

BoilerUp21, I wished we had a Menards close but no. I did get some material from local yards and some from HD.

Real nice looking shop! It’s nice to have a dedicated space and not have to share with a vehicle or two.

Looks good, and it looks like it is finished up. Great space to have. I just started with my build last week, planning on a 3 month build to finish up the shell, exterior finishes and electrical system.

It’s 3/4 ply on 2×6 joists 12” centers. I put down vinyl plank on top of that.

Thanks guys for the nice comments. I still have the stove to connect up, heat shield to put up, and trim for the hearth, and I have the base moulding to go down. I’m working on a shadowbox fence that goes between the workshop and the garage. I wanted something there to slow down the wind and make the deck more private. I have posts set and cut to length, bought the pickets and some of the hardware. Here is what the fence is supposed to look like when done:

Still have the gates to go but now after a day-long fight with 30 to 50 mph winds, I got the fence built. Whew! I hates the wind.

finished the fence and gates next to the deck for the workshop. Hopefully now the wind wont be so annoying when I am trying to do something out on the deck.

Just returning to this site after a few years away so it was so nice seeing your shop. I can relate to the delays in finding materials. I am trying to get started with my shop but having trouble finding someone to form up the slab. Thanks for the inspiration through pics of your shop.

-- Cheers

This comment is a little off topic but…

Is the tractor a 9N? I caught the first glimpse in pic #1 (left side of pic; rear wheel only).
