Im a grandpa that wants to leave something behind. Im a newbie to woodworking, hope to start my first project soon. I ride a BMW and am an old farmboy. I make my living helping others with computers. I have always been interested in making tiny boxes and boxes with hidden compartments. CNC have facinated me also. I would like to be part of a Woodworking group here in my area but the only group is for Woodturning. Not that Woodturning is bad , it is just not in my interest's yet. I love the look of dovetails so I bought a dovetail jig. I also bought 2 routers. I am hoarding tools until I get the nerve up to make my first cut. I am going to start my first project next weekend. Cross your fingers that I dont loose any of mine. TMI? Just trying to share.

Welcome to Lumber Jocks! This is a great place to get – or give – advice about woodworking on the forums and the project posts are a wonderful source of new ideas. I look forward to seeing your projects and posts.

To get the most feedback on your projects, it’s best to only post 1 or 2 at a time. This way you will get feedback over several days and from a wide variety of members.

Please enjoy your membership.

Welcome to Lumberjocks. The projects are an inspiration, the information is priceless and the people are supportive. The only problem is, the site can get addictive.

God Bless

Hi there,
Welcome to LumberJocks… I joined the site myself a few months ago and will give you fair warning, this site is VERY ADDICTIVE, VERY EDUCATIONAL, and VERY FUN…. so sit back, enjoy the ride and learn from the other LJ’s as they are a group of extremely talented people that are also very friendly…

Enjoy your time here on LJ and pass the word to any of your woodworking buddies about us…
