Location: Olympia, WA

I’m a retired soldier and now that I don’t have to move to the other side of the world every couple of years, I’ve finally have both the time and space to explore some new hobbies and pick up on some old ones. So it is this new hobby of woodworking that has brought me here. Hopefully my simple projects will allow me to learn more about woodworking, and I see that there are many folks to learn from here as well. For the time being it’s mostly reading, researching and the odd simple project as I move forward in this world of woodworking.

I am truly amazed at the things many of you have posted and can only hope I become have as good you have!

Welcome. You have found the right place for woodworking. A great group of people willing to help. Looking forward to see your projects and comments. Work safe in the shop and don’t forget to use pushsticks.

Welcome to Lumberjocks. The projects are an inspiration, the information is priceless and the people are supportive. The only problem is, the site can get addictive.

God Bless

I’d like to thank all of you for the warm welcome to LJ. I am just starting out with woodworking, and can only hope that I will become at least half as good as you folks are. I am so amazed by what I have seen of the work all of you have done. Even more amazing are the mistakes that some of you claim to have made, I often had to read these posts 2 or 3 times before I saw these “mistakes” and can only pray my mistakes look as good. I wish I had a project to post here but thus far the only thing I’ve built is a reloading bench, as soon as time and funding allows I will try to meet the standard all of you have set and post my first project.

Hi there,
Welcome to LumberJocks… I joined the site myself just about 2 years ago and will give you fair warning, this site is VERY ADDICTIVE, VERY EDUCATIONAL, and VERY FUN…. so sit back, enjoy the ride and learn from the other LJ’s as they are a group of extremely talented people that are also very friendly…
I apologize for the late welcome but I am currently serving overseas and don’t have a lot of spare time on my hands.

Enjoy your time here on LJ and pass the word to any of your woodworking buddies about us…
