This wood was cracking so fast (not this blank, I freshly cut the ends off this—-but we could tell how fast other pieces were splitting—QUICKLY), I grabbed the first thing that came to hand to use as an outboard “steady” rest. A 4ft step ladder is anything but steady. But, I made it work. I figured out really quick that the only objective was to be get the diameter down so that it could be mounted inboard for a more stable tool rest.!

That is why we have came so far in this world.up until the videos came out for our kids.
