My shop, most of a small basement. In the first pic you can my table saw with outfeed table, bandsaw behind the table saw. As you can probably tell from the proximity of the top of the bandsaw to the ceiling, the ceiling in my shop is low! 78”” high, in fact. My router table and miter saw are currently sandwiched between the two large pillars that hold up the first floor of the house. Behind them is a long wall, where the radial arm saw is now, that I plan to turn into a radial arm saw/miter saw bench. The radial arm saw is about 35 years old, belonged to my father in law, and he hadn’t used it since he got his table saw 20 years ago. But, it works great, absent the crappy table. My shop is cramped, and I thought of having my bench double as the outfeed table, but then I’ve found I really like having the outfeed table as sort of a backbench while working at my main bench. Anyway, my mdf bench top is now warped, so I need to make a new top, hard maple this time and work on a better outfeed table that is flat. When working on my first real project it was a pain not having a truly flat surface for assembly. I ended up taking out my table saw blade and riving knife and blade guard and using that. The last two pics are what you see when coming down the steps. It doesn’t really do it justice, how steep and narrow the stairs of my 100 year old house are. Overall, the shop needs work, especially storage. It’s slightly damp, cramped, and I love it. Sometimes I sit down there even when I have no actual project I’m working on, just to hang out.

For a 100 year old house, someone did a nice job on the remodel.
And just “hanging out”, ya I’ve done that…....................

A good place to hang out. Think, dream, plan. Nice job.
