A woodworking beginner. It would be safe to say that I am at the most remote starting point, without a basis in any other related field. Yet the wood beckons me with its siren song. I am strongly drawn to a more traditional hand tool approach, finding that I am attracted to the processes of woodworking more so than the physical result.

With the approval from my ever supportive wife, I am slowly attempting to cobble together a small, if not limited set of tools so I can move from reading and watching to actually doing. All the while attempting to make it look as cool to my children as it looks to me. I can think of nothing more fulfilling than taking this journey with them, if they can escape the constant barrage of the electronic temptation that tends to permeate teenager's lives.
