« Part 9: Yes!! It is turning!! Part 10 of Spinning wheel series Part 11: Making the Bobbin »

I made some small but big progress today in the right areas. I set the main axle pegs in place today using my tapering tool. I drilled out the holes 1/8” smaller than the peg itself (3/8”)

Using my tapering tool, the top of the hole is reamed out to match the diameter of the peg at the top end and fit to match the smaller end.

Here you can see one of the pegs in place

I also tapered the ends of the Maidens so they can be easily accessible to remove the bobbin and the flyer

Another good look at the big wheel axle pegs

Steve, you are going to make a bunch of shop sweaters for us all and offer them to us for the upcoming winter months. With your talent, I’ll bet they even have button holes.
