Topic tags/keywords: resource question cedar

I have a customer that requested some cedar benches made that they plan on gel staining later on. so I am wondering if there is any sealant/wood preserver I can apply to the bench that will not interfere with the stain. I don’t want to leave the bench unprotected in all the joints since those would likely not get stained by the customer and that is usually where furniture disintegrates in my neck of the woods
