My tiny liitle deer friend!
My wifes boss Anne asked me in february if I could make her an rocking deer. Her granson would be born in maj. A rockin deer?? Well her last name is deer in swedish. Ok, I thought it will be an interesting task. I didn’t count the time it took me to designe it. I should have since I’m an antrepreneur. She borrowed me her shildhood rocking horse and I would take the measures from it and put them to the deer.
Not an easy thing to do. From the first cut it took me aproximently 60 hours to make it starting in maj. It took more or less one month to put it together.
I used 40mm pine glue board and finished it with P400.
It’s lovely. Everybody who have seen it loves it.
If you want to buy one send me PM and we’ll discuse the details. : )

Thanks justjoe and buzz135uk. The price I told Anne was way too low. But I didn’t know how mush work there would be because the only thing I knew about the toy was that it will rock and it’s a deer. I realiced that I will sink deep in this project but since I had told her a price and she had showed me green light I could’t stop even I realized my hour pay will get smaler and smaler. Besides it was to a boy that hadn’t yet been born!! So aftet ten or twenty or fifty hours of drawing and sending emails I started to make it.

Just heard from my wife that “my litle deer” is placed in the livingroom so that everybody sees it. Did I mention that it has 5 leyers of boat laquer. It’s a heavy litle thing to hold for one hour. That’s what it took. Luckly it took several days for each layer to dry…
