This a picture of a steam train shelf . Our daughter inlaw brought a scrap of paper with a few scetches on it of a train shelf and wanted to know if I could make a train shelf . I said I would give it a try and this is what I come up with . I started with a oiece of 1/2 inch veneer plywood and the wheels and the cow catcher on the front i walnut and the wheels are 3/4 inch below the plywood and 3/8 on top of the plywood . And the smoke stack and the top of the cabin are walnut . And the shelves are from front to rear are 1/2 inch plywood . And my grandsons were very happy with the train shelf . I think it is about 24 inches long and about 18 high I would have to measure it if you wanted to know that. Gene

No wonder the boys liked it, it’s wonderful.
