It’s been a while since I posted one of my projects. I constructed this 22×27 picture frame made of cherry. Greene and Greene is probably my favorite Arts and Crafts style. I ebonized oak for the 3/8 in. plugs. I used pocket screws to fasten everything so the plugs serve only to enhance!! The top and bottom rails are 7/8 in thick and the two side rails are 3/4. This gives it the depth GnG work was so fond of. Topping it off with several coats of shellac. It will hold a 16×20 portrait or mirror. To finish it off I put one of my own photographs of Fall River in Estes Park taken this last Oct. Now after I posted this…I’ll need to take some better photos…sorry.

I love it! Greene and Greene were masters at design. The Hall brothers brought their thoughts to life. You’ve done an expert job that they would be proud of.

Very nice.

My favorite G&G elements are the plugs. They really stand out.

Fine Woodworking has a variation on this design in last month’s issue. It has some carved curves in it but otherwise it is very similar.

Great job, hard to go wrong with G&G.

I really like this project. GnG is at or near the top of my list.
