Little Music Box

We found this music movement mixed in our Christmas decorations this year and had no idea where it came from. Rather than throw it away I decided to make a music box. It plays We wish you a merry Christmas. I think it will be a nice gift for my niece. Originally there was no handle so I decided to turn one to match. About 3’’ round and 3’’ tall. Made from Maple burl and walnut. Finished with danish oil.
I was surprised how much better it sounds with the lid on, almost as if it’s amplified. I must of done something right.

Beautiful Dave! Merry Christmas.

I really like how the burl pops and contrasts with the walnut. Congrats on a job well done.

Great idea to make the movement a new home, and a really nice looking home at that.

It’s great that you were able to save the movement and install it into such a lovely box
