I recently completed my dust collection system. I built a custom router cabinet for dust collection. I also build a custom manifold to attach four different attachment hoses. This was a big project but has improved my shop air quality and cleanliness a ton.
Thanks for checking out my project.

Sounds like a win, win and another win. New router table, completed DC, and noting a difference in your personal air. We only get the 2 lungs, and it’s up to us to protect them, glad to hear you are on the job.
Thanks for sharing with us.

Stellar job on the dust collection system….Looks like you’ve got all the major tools covered….I watched your video, and you commented that your d.c. is only 1 hp…..It sounds like you may be a little underpowered for all the runs and turns you have going to the power tools….My old Delta d.c is a 1 3/4 horse, and puts out 1200 cfms…....It’s an old Delta I’ve had for 20+ years, and I also have it in a separate room in my shop to keep the noise down….My shop is a 40×50, and has runs to all the major machines….Having a big enough d.c. with plenty of cfms is very important….Two things that helps my d.c not to work too hard is the Wynn air filter I put on it a few years ago, and keeping the lower bag empty…The fuller it gets with dust and chips, the more it cuts down on the ability to work efficiently…..I learned this the hard way over the years….!!! Just my $.02….

To be honest I just love your whole shop. I have a dust collection system in place on my Compound saw and on my drilling/milling machine. But I still need a setup like yours for other areas. Right now I simply roll most actions outside onto the driveway and let the wind gently provide clean air. Then I bag up the chips from Planing and put them under the hammock so that area is plant free and soft on the feet. I am saving your post as a favorite for later when i want to get serious about a DC for the table saw etc. Really nice shop.

I appreciate the comments. My dust collector is a little undersized but I got it cheap used. One day I will probably upgrade.

Whenever someone posts a picture of their shop, the first thing I always notice are the colors.
Your shop has very pleasing tones in it. (especially the wall the manifold in on)
I really like the manifold. I built a smaller version with a plexiglass front panel.
Mine is at the very end of my duct run and I was curious to ‘see’ how it would handle the chips/dust.
So far it is doing fine.
I like the floor sweep idea too. I may have to to copy that. :)
Thanks for sharing!
