Celtic Knot Humidor

This is my first Humidor.

The sides are curly cherry, the grain wraps around, and is held together with maple dovetail splines. (the splines all look like the second from the top) the camera angle distorts how they look for the others.

The top is a Celtic knot of bloodwood, ash, and walnut. That is a veneer about an 1/8” thick glued on Baltic birtch ply.

I lined the box with Spanish cedar. The hardware is solid brass from Brusso.

After talking with LJ duarco I decided not the finish the inside of the box before adding the Spanish cedar. Its been working for him for years. Thanks Dave.

I used the Incra 5000 sled for the celtic knot angles. Took a while to set that up, but now perfect!

I have now been asked to make at least two more.

Looks great Petey! The dovetail splines are a fantastic touch. Love the veneered top, too.

This is a wonderful Celtic humidor. This is a real eye catcher and it displays a lot of nice details and fine craftsmanship.

An incredible Celtic knot, which by default made this box look like a winner, nice work.

Thanks for posting, and congrats on your 3.

Thank you all for the nice complements! I have two requests to build similar humidors. I think I will price it at cost, + shipping + something for me.

Make the something for me part be substantial. Because it will be well earned.

Excellent work!!
