This is my kitchen, the neat thing about the sycamore lumber is that it came from a tree that was next door to the house i grew up in. i remember pounding nails into that tree while trying to climb it as a child, 45 years ago! and i found every nail when i had it sawn into lumber! the barstools do swivel too!

beautiful job, I love QS sycamore, it’s fantastic looking wood and so few people use it. well done!

yes! love the Sycamore too! have a video of the massive sycamore log that had to be blown into two pieces with black powder before the sawmill could work it up into lumber. will post that soon.

Beautiful kitchen. We recently had a large, and I mean large Sycamore cut down on our property. I had it quartersawn and have it in our warehouse drying for several months before I get it KD. The reason I had it taken down is because our youngest daughter is allergic to the pollen and it also was bothering me in my older age.

I’m sure the kitchen is special for you because of where it came from and you’ve done an awesome job of keeping it alive.

Beautiful! I recently bought a little (30bf) QSS – with no particular project in mind. I like those stools a lot. The cabinets are even awesomer.

I’d like to see the plan for the stools. I need some of those.

I recently built a desk from QS Sycamore. It’s a beautiful wood, and your kitchen is spectacular. Your personal history with the tree makes the project that more special. I really like the stools too.
