These are my favorite salad tongs. I put this up to give others inspiration. The original (darker) tong was from North Carolina. I lost it’s pair and made the light one as a replacement. The original had used a fostner bit between the fingers (I figured this out AFTER I made mine with a rasp). I don’t remember the name of the wood I used. It is a ridiculously hard and brittle wood I used on a friend’s project for butterfly joints on a live-edge table top. We were so sick of it after using it that he left me a chunk big enough to make this tong. Finished with olive oil.
