I’ve found a lot of inspiration from LumberJocks community, and is typically the 1st place I look when planning a new project. I figured it’s time I started giving back, and maybe someone will see something or some element that they would like ask about or find useful.
I was in need of a new bed for my 1st son when my second son was born. I looked at some designs online for inspiration, and this was the result.
It’s lightly spalted maple, AKA started to rot, with traditional mortise and tenon joinery and some left over cypress used for the mattress slats. The vertical slats were individually mortised and the whole thing finished with satin wipe-on poly.
It’s about a year old now and has been holding up very well against my now 3 1/2 yr old.
Thanks for looking!

Nice bed. I built two of the same style, I have them as projects on here as well. Ours are working great after 1 year.
Have your say...
