I saw this Redwood Pergola plans on and decided to build it in our back yard. I modified the plans to make it 12×12 oc for the posts and adjust everything accordingly. Final product looks better with pavers installed.

nice job, and yes, it does look better with the pavers. I’m curious, what did you use to cover it?

I built one of these types on my house last year. I didn’t use those plans because it had to flow with the house since it was being attached. It’s about 20X18 and attached to the house. My house has an “L” shape like yours and was definitely a worthwhile project. My wife has a huge family with 30+ people over several times a year so we have a couple of tables under ours with plenty of room to spare. In Arizona we love our pool parties and all of the family digs the party space we have back there.

NCTurner, I know you asked halvara1 what he used but I’ll say, I used some metal roofing from HD. It comes in colors but the colors are only on the top side it’s white on the bottom side. Since we have a pool and a more water themed backyard I used the blue one and mounted it upside down. The pergola slopes a bit so no leaks and the roof should last nearly forever.

Good job on that, your family will get years of service out of that. I don’t know where you are located but if you add some misters around the edges it really cools down the space nicely.

I used 1.5” x 1.5” x 8’ cedar slats spaced 1.5” apart. The entire pergola is constructed of cedar. I added another picture

This pergola is a wonderful accent to that home. Nice work.
