Project Information

I have a bigger shop now and my small outfeed table needed an upgrade. The old one was about 36" x 40" and part folded on card table type legs. The new one is 5' x 5' and has 2×6 and 2×4 construction. The top is some laminate from a re-use it store ( a roll that was 5' x 15' for $15.00) on 3/4" sanded shop plywood. The pattern is Curly Cherry. I did Cherry trim. I used some extra siding to make compartments for 'stuff'. I made some Walnut latches. I am hoping to cut down on the film, or layer, of dust on everything. The saw is leveled and bolted to the table. The table is about 1/16" lower than the saw and boards slide really well. I had to 'adjust' the miter slots after I was done. Now I have to keep it from becoming a'horizontal surface'.

Robert, nice set up and great buy. I especially liked the storage idea. I have begun using HMDP instead of wheels on he bottom of my tools. The plastic still lets me move them, but they don't rock or tilt like when I use wheels.

Last year I decided to make a off-feed table for my unisaw and yoked two other Craftsman saws I bought on Craig's list to use as my off-feed table. I run a 1/2 dado in one and a 3/4 inch dado in the other.

A single Shop Fox fence serves both of the yoked saws. This arrangement works well for me and lets me run boards both ways. It is nice to have dados already set up for plywood dados. That seems to be a technique I use often.

Very nice build. I have that horizontal surface thing happening on mhy outfeed table, I am constantly moving things on it to make room for a board to cut.
