8 is (more than) enough!

I wanted give the kids next door a little pencil box gift; and the kid up the block; don’t forget the one down there … . Anyway, I ended-up making eight boxes.

I created the boxes with Wenge and Curly Maple. I wanted to added to an inlay but had never attempted that before. So, I chose some clip art designs to print as templates. I then studied on-line instructions and practiced for many hours before cutting into my Wenge box lids.

The inlays are either Bloodwood or Yellow Heart. The boxes are 2 1/4×3 1/4×9 3/4 out of 1/4” stock. The lid is 5/16” stock. The finish is several coats of Minwax wipe on poly, then wet sanded with 400 grit and some final spray coats of satin poly.
