podium

Hi everyone, I was approached by a customer who wanted a basic issue no frills podium.Her words was ” I don’t want folks to walk into the Good Stone inn and remember the podium. I want them to remember the food and service”.
So this is what i came up with. Oak plywood construction framed out in white pine. I took the liberty of adding a English stirrup to the front and framed it out.It was attached with a old used piece of leather and some fancy nails.
This added just a touch of bling and finished the piece of nicely.
The stain is called honey and top coated with poly.I also routed a extra large pencil grove as I knew they used magic markers for seating assignments .
Not the fancy wood work I would have liked but it matched perfectly what the customer wanted and that is all that mattered.
