Hello everyone here is another box that was built over Christmas and new year. Once again made from old wood that I have found along the way. This was an old gate post I pulled out the ground. Then cut it into planks 13mm thick then planed down to 10mm. I left all the nail holes in it as I as like the character it brings out in the box. The hinges are out of the same piece of wood. The 4 trays are made out of beech which came of a pallet that I found at work. Once again pulled all the nails out. So if you look closely at the trays you can see the holes or should I say character. The hinges are sir cured with 3mm dowels that I made from beech. It is then sanded with 180 then 240 and finished with linseed oil and once dry buffed to a nice sheen. Finished size is 7”x7” x7”sitting on a 40mm high stand. The bottom of the box and trays have been lined with suede leather. The top tray has suede leather ring holders

Very nice. I really like the wooden hardware especially the locking mechanism.

1. Great use of reclaimed wood
2. Nice box joints
3. Really cool lock

Very unique! You have those box joints down pat. My favorite board is that one in the bottom. Looks like QS sycamore?

Very creative. And the nail holes are charming.

I don’t use nails. Only reclaimed wood and glue here.

Excellent craftsmanship and you sure must like doing box joints. There must be about a bazillion of them in this box. :D
