Class anyone?

no, we don’t need no stinkin classes!

Actually, I’ve taken two, and fear I may have mentioned it too much.

One a five week lathe class – spindles, another 10 week intro to woodworking – tables. My pub table is the product of the latter. (surprisingly at one time the most viewed, and still way up in the rankings – great boast for a first-timer)

If memory serves, there is a list of schools, or classes we’ve taken back in one of the forums. dates back a ways though, several months at least.

I’m thinking of offering a class at my shop or getting Lee to host it at his shop.

I mentioned it at the picnic we we never discussed it in any depth.

Maybe a veneering one to start. I’ve got my veneering rig and Lee has his so we could get a few items glueing up at the same time.

Gee, I’m in class every day, right here. anything you want to know is right here some where. There are even lots of things you probably would never think of knowing or wanting to know. There’s even some things…...Naw, I won’t go there. Life is a pretty good school.

I take stuff at woodcraft every once in a while. There are a couple of folks in woodworking programs, etc. Not seen much discussion lately.

There are some nice schools out there. I’m trying plan a vacation next year, and take a 1 or 2 week class at one of the schools.

I taken a few classes/lectures at Woodcraft, but there is only so much you can learn in a 3 hour class.

Speaking of Woodcraft. Is anyone in the Seattle area going to the Rob Cosman classes at Woodcraft in Nov? I’ll be there for the Saturday classes/lectures.

Actually I would loveto take some classes. I’ve done a little research on the web and I cannot find any classes locally in Washington State north of Seattle. If anyone out there knows of any please post them. Great point. I think we all can learn something new….....especially me!

I remember seeing some woodworking classes at Everett Community College. I’ve been meaning to give them a call, because I can’t find anything on their web site. This was a year or so ago, maybe they don’t offer it anymore.

Does an hour (counting the ferry ride) north of Vancouver count as “north of Seattle?” ;-) You’re not too far from Inside Passage School of Fine Woodworking . For anyone who likes Krenov’s books I highly recommend it!

I’m with you, Mike L. I’m going to use a week of vacation time next summer to attend a class. Kelly Mehler has a school here in Kentucky I’d like to visit.

I took a class with Kelly Mehler at the Mark Adams School of Woodworking near Indianapolis before he built his own school. Excellent teacher!
