Wichita Falls , Tx
United States

My old shop was a 12×18’ shed that was on the property when we moved in. It had 50amp service, florescent lights and a few outlets, basically an improved garden shed. I added insulation, a few more outlets and a small A/C unit. It worked ok, but eventually it got small. So in late 2017 my wife started talking to me about expanding the shop with the caveat that she be able to use the garage for her car once all was said and done. This entailed making sure I floor space in the new shop for all the yard equipment, which had been stored in the garage until then. I designed the shop on a 20×24” footprint, 10’ ceilings with attic joists, 50 amp service due to house service & budget limits. I placed my outlets on two 20 Amp circuits every six feet. I included two floor outlets. HVAC is a Mini split, lighting is LED with an additional LED shop light over the hutch. Walls are dry wall with the exception of the divider wall which is OSB. It is painted with a custom blend called “whatever is in the garage”. Construction started with the foundation in late February with the foundation, continued through a frenzied week and a half in March when my brother and a few friends helped get it framed and dryed in, and after a few months of finishing out on weekends and after work I moved in August 3rd 2018.
Equipment: Delta TS300 Tablesaw, Jet 6” Jointer, Craftsman 12” Bandsaw, Dewalt 12” SCMS, Delta 13” lunchbox Planer, and the usual bunch of hand and powertools.

That is a great shop. Obviously you have spent a good amount of time building shop stands and equipment…..it looks very well done, but where is the fridge for adult beverages for after the machines shut down?
Thanks for showing, a nice shop!

I haven’t had the opportunity to install one yet, I shall have to plan accordingly.
