Carport Shelving #3: Shelf Support time...

Yesterday it was time to make the shelf supports. There are 22 of them, measuring 23” long, 3.5” wide at the back, tapering to 1” at the front. Because there were 22, this was a perfect job for a jig. I first cut 24, 3.5” by 23” supports out of 2, 1” by 12” by 8’ spruce boards. I then built a jig to splay the support at the necessary angle to the saw blade. Then I placed the support into the jig which also serves as a sled for the saw. Then I simply pushed the sled/jig through the saw. And Voila!, one completed shelf support. Then I just did that 21 more times, and I now have 22 shelf supports ready to be painte...
